No, not without federal authorization. As of April 2025, Transport Canada requires a Special Flight Operations Certificate (SFOC)

for any drone—regardless of weight—to operate at an advertised event. Operating without this certificate is illegal and subject to significant fines. Additionally, always check municipal bylaws, as many cities have extra restrictions on launching drones from public parks or event spaces.

CAR 901.41: “No person shall operate a remotely piloted aircraft system at an advertised event except in accordance with a special flight operations certificate — RPAS issued under section 903.03.”

No. As Advanced-Complex Operators experienced in the Canadian climate, we are fully equipped for year-round deployment. Our flight teams utilize specialized cold-weather protocols, including high-output battery management and thermal regulation systems, to ensure mission success in sub-zero temperatures. We understand the unique atmospheric challenges of winter flight and maintain strict safety margins to deliver consistent results regardless of the season.

Yes, We always carry full liability insurance, if you have a project and require an specific insurance ammount, let us know

Safety is our top priority. We follow a strict pre-flight checklist and always maintain a visual line of sight or (VLOS) with the drone. We have established emergency procedures (SOP) and are prepared to handle unexpected situations.

The timeline depends on the project’s complexity. Simple videos or photo shoots can be delivered the same day or edited within a few days, while more complex projects with extensive planning, post-production may take longer. We will provide a clear timeline with your project quote, if is necessary to provide live broadcast or a live review of the capture material we can accommodate and coordinate this to be a successful step.

Example Answer: A recreational pilot flies for fun and must follow general safety guidelines. A commercial pilot, like us, is certified and licensed by the relevant aviation authority (e.g., the FAA in the US, Transport Canada in Canada). We have the necessary training, knowledge, and permits to operate drones for business purposes, ensuring legal compliance and safety.

We are extremely proud of our success rate strive and our students, we provide the highest quality course material because our ultimate goal is to create a safety flight mentality, check our google reviews, instagram or linkedin, our clients are a measure of this succes.
Success is up to the students also, The only guarantee we offer is to provide an exceptional learning experience delivered by highly experienced pilot-instructors while following the mandated course syllabus as per TC requirements (TP15263). If you’re not satisfy with our courses let us know to improve our services.

In Canada, the requirement for a drone “license” (officially called a Pilot Certificate) depends entirely on the weight of your drone and where you fly it—not whether the work is commercial or recreational, but most jobs are done in Controlled Airspace, it’s important to know that and soon you’ll notice that without one license is a small work area.

No, only Transport Canada is allowed to provide certifications, we can provide you with our expertise and lead you to it’s obtention. As a Drone services provider – Sky View Studio has SFOC for certain operations, we know the process to get them.
